Antique 3-Tier Table - Before & After

This is another one of my first pieces that I painted, a wee bit back, and I was also really happy at how this one turned out.  I decided to paint this table a lighter shade, because sometimes the simpler the better!  There was a lot of detail to this table's design to begin with, so sweet and simple on the color it was, and I think it turned out quite nicely.  The info and pics of it are below...

**NOTE: Each of these pieces are for sale unless otherwise noted; feel free to contact me with any questions.  Remember - I also do custom requests!
The 3 Tier Table is just a lovely, light grey color, that I slightly distressed.  I then added a bit of dark wax to give the paint a bit of an aged look.  The dark wax really brings out the details in the claw, ball feet, as well as the carvings!

Antique Blue Chippendale Low Boy - Before & After

This Chippendale Low Boy was one of the first pieces I painted, a little while back, and I must say I was really happy with how it turned out.  To be honest, it's probably my favorite piece thus far!  I especially ended up loving the fun punch of color I chose for the inside of the drawers!  Kind of reminds me of the saying surrounding the mullet hairstyle (horrible analogy, I know); except with this, it's all business on the outside and a party on the inside - HA!  The deets and pics of this piece are below...

**NOTE:  This piece is FOR SALE, and as always, please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have!

This Chippendale Low Boy was painted a gorgeous and sophisticated shade of blue, all the while I decided to mix it up and paint the inside of the drawers a bright and fun shade of coral.  I refinished the original Chippendale hardware by painting them in a soft hue of gold.  I then waxed this lil' in a clear coat to forever protect the paint and lightly distressed only a few places to finish off the piece.  Hope you like!

Happy HALLOWEEN 2012!

Happy Halloween from Melange Designs!  Hope you all have an amazing and safe night out, whether it be at home handing out candy to all those kiddos or out looking for candy yourselves!  ;)

In the meantime, here are some lovely, creative, and inspirational pumpkins for Halloween and/or fall (if you paint the faux versions).  Can't wait to see all of the fab costumes out there - probably my most fav part of all!

My NEW J.O.B. - Work it Out!

WHEW, where to start?!?  It's been WAY too long since I last posted - I apologize for that!  I have been one busy girl since my husband I made the decision that I would transition over from my federal career into my new career of Melange Designs full time!

Without getting way too personal on ya - it's not something we had at all planned for.  But, after the numerous surgeries and recommendations/advice from my amazing neurosurgeon at the Mayo Clinic, we quickly realized that I was not going to be able to tolerate (pain-wise) a full-time desk job, or not at this time in my life anyway.  It was one of the toughest decisions, one we prayed long and hard about, but one that God completely led us towards!

Now, to get back to where I'm at now...  I've really had to hit the ground running and have kept busy with pretty much anything I can get my hands on.  As an appetizer, I'll start with posting a few shots of my very first antique furniture redesign project I worked on.  That's not all I've been working on, but more on that later...

As a side note - each of the pieces I post are for sale, unless otherwise noted as such.  I hope you all enjoy and if you have any questions/comments and/or project inquiries for me, please feel free to contact me!  I can always do custom color requests and/or even paint pieces that you already own.

**Note: The following piece has already SOLD.
(Sorry for the poor quality of the pics - they were snapped from my phone.)

BABY Bloggin'

Let's just be honest, there's really nothing cuter than some Bebe's and Kids.  Everything associated with them, makes an adult (myself included) ooh and ahh, all the while making those silly faces with the squinty eyebrows.  I'm even willing to bet there's a few of you trying it right now.
There's no secret in the fact that all things bebe's and kid's are just so much more adorb because they all look like they made it onto the set of the movie Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. (If you don't get the analogy on that one, GASP, let me stop for a second because I just realized I'm getting old.)  I'm simply meaning that everything of theirs is just so darn cute because they're like the miniature version of everything great to be had!  Not to mention, they come in the cutest patterns, prints, colors ever imaginable and as adults, we secretly desire to have one of almost everything they own, and be able to get away with it!
Prepare to Ooh and ahh below - while making THAT face of course....   ;)
